THROUGH THE GALLERY
Cambodia was the door through which most Indian culture entered into mainland Southeast Asia, including a textile patterning technique known as weft ikat.

The Khmers have practiced this technique and have mastered it to a level of sophistication not seen in any other Southeast Asian countries.

We offer a selection of 19th and early 20th century ikat textiles from Cambodia and Thailand, as well as contemporary textiles from the border areas near the Lao and Cambodian borders.
